Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI systems for matchmaking, ranking, and automation across the Paraform marketplace
• Develop LLM-driven features including retrieval pipelines, agentic workflows, and AI-powered automation
• Own systems end-to-end from data pipelines and prompt design to deployment and monitoring
• Work with product and full-stack teams to ship AI capabilities that move marketplace metrics
• Design evaluation frameworks to measure real-world performance and business outcomes
• Define best practices for production AI systems balancing quality, cost, latency, and maintainability

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience at a growing, AI-native startup (Series A-D)
• Experience working on products scaled to a large number of users
• Strong Python and TypeScript experience
• Proven track record of building agentic systems that power real business outcomes
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, 0 to 1 environments
• Ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building LLM-powered applications, retrieval systems, or tool-using agents
• Familiarity with traditional ML techniques like ranking, recommendation, or classification
