Applied AI Engineer (Automation)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy tailored AI and automation solutions aligned to client objectives.
• Translate business problems into production-grade AI workflows using Python, automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier), and LLM APIs.
• Build and deploy agentic workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and Google ADK.
• Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases and search technologies such as Pinecone, Elasticsearch, or pgvector.
• Transition fast prototypes into scalable, production-ready systems with robust testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Partner with clients through technical discovery, demos, and clear communication of technical tradeoffs.
• Maintain and iterate on deployed solutions through feature updates, bug fixes, and prompt improvements.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of software or AI engineering experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience specifically in AI Automation, Generative AI, or Agentic AI.
• Strong Python engineering skills and experience building APIs/services using FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI) including prompt design and structured outputs.
• Proficiency with workflow automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier.
• Familiarity with RAG fundamentals, embeddings, and vector search.
• Production engineering experience with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or IBM).
• Experience with async/queuing patterns like Celery, Redis, or Kafka.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience fine-tuning LLMs or other machine learning models.
• Familiarity with observability and tracing tools like LangSmith or OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with graph databases or knowledge graphs.
• Knowledge of data governance and AI governance concepts (PII handling, auditability).
• Prior consulting experience or experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
