Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI agents for specific clinical workflows from prototype to production
• Determine agent boundaries, including decision-making logic and human hand-off points
• Develop rigorous evaluations to ensure agent safety and catch failure modes before deployment
• Build integrations to allow agents to operate within existing customer systems
• Debug live system issues across the full stack and identify reusable patterns across the customer base

Requirements

• Proven software engineering experience building reliable software that users depend on
• Proficiency in Python and experience building systems on top of external APIs
• Comfort working with LLMs and AI agents
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to handle ambiguous problems
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or high-reliability domains such as healthcare, finance, or legal
• Background in evaluation, simulation, or working with synthetic data
• Experience working directly with customers or domain experts
