Applications Engineering, Sr Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture and technical engagements to help customers solve complex engineering problems using advanced software and services.
• Act as a recognized industry and technology expert, providing senior-level guidance on advanced technical support and solution deployment.
• Partner with sales teams to position tailored services and solutions, leading workshops to define customer "to-be" scenarios.
• Select appropriate tools and technologies to address customer needs, collaborating with Product Development and Management to assess technical maturity and risks.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle, managing technical objection handling and solution value propositions.
• Drive adoption strategies and lead customer engagements across multiple teams and geographic regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 12+ years of professional experience (for Bachelor's), 10+ years (for Master's), or 7+ years (for PhD) in an engineering environment.
• Demonstrated experience with commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM, or SPDM software packages.
• Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese and English.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and logical problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer outcomes and revenue impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in engineering domains such as Multiple Physics, Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO), or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Programming proficiency in Python, Matlab, C, C++, Java, or C#.
• Understanding of infrastructure deployment, including On-premises and Cloud environments.
• Experience with DevOps practices and professional project management.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural principles, patterns, and modeling tools.
