Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering systems stack including PLM, CAD/PDM, MBSE, and change management
• Map and re-engineer engineering workflows to eliminate manual handoffs and improve data capture
• Build internal applications and ETL pipelines to connect engineering tools to the enterprise data layer
• Design analytics dashboards and reports in Power BI, SQL, and Python to support leadership decision-making
• Build, pilot, and deploy AI-powered tools and LLM-based agents to streamline workflows
• Support AS9100 and CMMC compliance documentation and partner with IT/Infosec on audit readiness
• Lead training and enablement to drive tool adoption across engineering teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience managing or supporting enterprise engineering applications (PLM, CAD/PDM, MBSE)
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting/programming language (Python or JavaScript)
• Demonstrated experience building reports and dashboards in a BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to produce system design documentation and SOPs

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience administering PLM platforms (Teamcenter, Windchill, Arena) or CAD data management (SolidWorks PDM, Vault)
• Familiarity with engineering data domains such as BOM structures and aerospace data standards
• Experience with MBSE toolchains (CAMEO, Capella) and engineering change management
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Alteryx, dbt, SSIS) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift)
• ITIL, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certification
