Applications Engineer, Sr Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as an onsite subject matter expert embedded with a major Aerospace and Defense customer, providing modeling, analysis, and technical leadership using Digital Mission Engineering (DME) software.
• Design and develop custom user interfaces, automation scripts, and integration code to solve real-world mission engineering problems.
• Work directly with customer teams to translate system-level engineering requirements into software solutions and implement best practices for mission simulation and orbital analysis.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to identify and mature new sales opportunities by demonstrating technical value and expanding software adoption.
• Plan and deliver technical training sessions and seminars to educate end users on the full capability of the toolset.
• Partner with product development teams to translate customer feedback into product enhancements and influence the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in an engineering software environment (or Master's degree with 2+ years).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
• Strong technical background in orbital mechanics and orbit analysis.
• Hands-on experience with AGI Orbit Determination Toolkit and Systems Tool Kit (STK) or equivalent mission engineering software.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, C, C++, C#, Java, or MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience (with a BS) or 5+ years (with an MS) in engineering software environments.
• Experience with process integration, optimization, systems engineering, mission simulation, PLM, PDM, SPDM, or CAD software packages.
• Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to both technical and executive audiences.
