Applications Developer II - Manufacturing Systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing and operational applications to support factory execution, quality management, and production workflows.
• Develop and support MES applications using Tulip or similar low-code/no-code manufacturing platforms.
• Create intuitive operator and technician interfaces to improve usability and reduce process variability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable software solutions and automated workflows.
• Support integration between manufacturing systems and enterprise platforms such as ERP, PLM, and quality systems.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics tools to provide real-time operational visibility and production insights.
• Design and implement automated data collection, validation, and reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, and data-related issues to support continuous factory operations.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing, implementing, or supporting business or manufacturing applications.
• Knowledge of database design, data structures, and best practices for managing production data.
• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), application deployment, and support processes.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or manufacturing software platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across technical and operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MES platforms such as Tulip, Ignition, or FactoryTalk.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems like ERP or PLM.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and automation tools.
• Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., Aerospace, Medical Device) and familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100.
