Application Technical Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for production applications, including problem investigation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor alerts and incidents affecting the production environment and escalate issues as necessary.
• Implement and manage automation processes to reduce manual tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
• Perform application deployments in both Production and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
• Conduct comprehensive application health checks to ensure system stability and availability.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to maintain standards for availability, latency, and performance.
• Provide 24/7 operational support, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous service.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to raise support tickets, analyze root causes, and resolve production issues.

Requirements

• 10-12 years of relevant work experience in technical production support.
• Proven experience providing L2/L3 support for production systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Unix Shell, PowerShell, or Python.
• Technical knowledge of J2EE, .Net, Oracle, SQL, Unix/Linux/Windows, or IBM MQ.
• Strong understanding of Change Management and Incident Management processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with 3-tier or n-tier application architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
• Knowledge of core banking or payment systems and the banking domain.
• Experience with web application development and MSSQL.
