Application Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle implementation of the MariApps SmartPAL PMS module, including scoping, configuration, data migration, UAT, and go-live.
• Provide ongoing technical and functional support, coordinating with MariApps and internal teams to resolve incidents and manage upgrades.
• Analyze, document, and optimize planned maintenance and procurement/accounting workflows.
• Engage ship management, technical, and finance stakeholders to elicit business requirements and produce functional specifications.
• Develop training materials and conduct end-user sessions for various stakeholders.
• Manage vendor deliverables to ensure they meet agreed service levels and timelines.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in enterprise application implementation, business analysis, or IT project management.
• Mandatory hands-on experience implementing and supporting the MariApps SmartPAL system or similar maritime ERP systems.
• Deep functional expertise in ship management operations, specifically Planned Maintenance System (PMS) workflows.
• Strong business analysis skills, including requirements elicitation, gap analysis, and process mapping.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including shore-based management and vessel crews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, PRINCE2) or business analyst certification (e.g., CBAP).
• Familiarity with data governance, API-based integrations, and data migration methodologies.
• Experience with workflow automation, AI/ML technologies, or business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
