Application Specialist - Laboratory Information Systems Support (Beaker)

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for clinical applications, including troubleshooting complex and escalated issues
• Deliver day-to-day end-user support and participate in an on-call rotation
• Coordinate and perform system testing, including UAT, performance, regression, and integration testing
• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of LIS and related systems
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and configure systems to meet clinical workflows
• Maintain system infrastructure, including servers and databases where applicable
• Generate reports and queries to support data monitoring and decision-making

Requirements

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Math, Health Informatics, or a related field
• Epic Beaker Certification
• 2-3 years of experience in 2nd level application support
• Working knowledge of HL7 standards and interfaces
• Experience working with various databases and operating systems
• Proficiency with software tools such as Visio, Microsoft Project, Excel, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Laboratory Technologist Diploma program
• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CMLTO)
• 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist
• Experience as an Epic-certified Beaker Application Specialist/Analyst in Microbiology
