Application Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed security practices into the SDLC
• Develop and maintain manual and automated security processes to mitigate risks
• Lead proactive security initiatives including threat modeling and penetration testing
• Architect and manage the deployment of vulnerability scanning tools
• Develop and improve secure development policies and documentation
• Communicate complex vulnerability details to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Mentor junior team members and foster a strong security culture

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in Information Security
• 2+ years of hands-on security experience with AWS
• Familiarity with HTML, PHP, Node.js, React.js, Nest.js, and Next.js
• Understanding of CI/CD tools including GitHub, Docker, JFrog, CircleCI, and ArgoCD
• Comprehensive understanding of OWASP Top 10 and security tools (SAST, DAST, SCA)
• Strong grasp of operating systems, networking protocols, and the OSI model
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks like CIS, NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, SOC2, or FedRAMP
• Exceptional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in IT or Security
• Industry certifications such as Security+, OSCP, GPEN, or ITCA
