Application Scientist, Materials Science

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and technical support to existing and prospective customers, including software demonstrations and general scientific guidance
• Troubleshoot scientific workflows, administration, and adaptation of customer modeling environments
• Advise customers on best practices for computational modeling and materials design
• Act as a bridge between customers and product development teams by gathering and sharing feedback
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Managers and Marketing teams to support business strategies
• Publish scientific papers and present at academic meetings, conferences, and exhibitions
• Execute or support contract analysis and research services

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or PhD in materials science, polymer science, computational chemistry, physical chemistry, or a related field
• Research experience in MD, QM, or ML
• Python programming experience
• Native-level Japanese proficiency for customer communications and academic presentations
• Working English proficiency for emails, reports, and web conferences
• Willingness and ability to travel as required
