Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases.
• Architect and guide the integration of complex data flows across distributed services, APIs, and platforms.
• Drive performance and scalability enhancements by optimizing database architecture and implementing high-efficiency design patterns.
• Direct business assessment and requirements analysis processes for hardware and operating systems.
• Mentor and train junior staff, providing subject matter expertise in software development methodology and architecture standards.
• Ensure the viability of IT deliverables by recommending design, build/buy, and vendor purchase options.
• Conduct thorough testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security assessments.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to communicate technical issues and considerations to various audiences.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in application development, system architecture, and database management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Node JS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including CloudFormation, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience designing and building REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk or Honeycomb.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and conduct root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, or Solution Consultant).
• Investment Foundations certification.
