Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with the integration of custom payloads, sensors, and companion computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Orin GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon)
• Support customers with architectural designs and system configuration to meet mission requirements
• Manage and maintain software and firmware builds for customer deployments
• Provide technical support for PixHawk compliant payloads and accessories
• Support autopilot builds including PX4, Ardupilot, and Betaflight
• Conduct benchtop testing, integration testing, and assist with flight testing
• Create integration documentation, user guides, and video tutorials
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions
• Collaborate with engineering teams to capture customer feedback for product improvements
• Support development of GitHub repositories and API documentation
• Travel to customer sites and Re:Build offices for support and training

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field
• 2-5 years of experience with autonomous systems, drones, or robotics preferred
• Experience with open-source flight control systems like ArduPilot or PX4 is a plus
• Hands-on experience with electronics integration, embedded systems, or hardware prototyping
• Familiarity with defense or commercial drone applications
