Application Engineer 4

Responsibilities

• Administer, secure, and maintain Linux virtual machines (RHEL 8/9) across OpenStack, VMware, and AWS
• Monitor and manage production Linux VMs and Kubernetes clusters using Rancher
• Maintain Ansible playbooks to automate changes and configuration management
• Support Apache NiFi deployments, including configuration updates and dataflow monitoring
• Manage the full server certificate and PKI lifecycle to ensure security compliance
• Perform software updates, patching, and system hardening via YUM and enterprise repositories
• Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and network-related issues in Linux environments

Requirements

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph
• Active Security+ Certification
• Strong Linux skills (RHEL 8/9)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, OpenStack, VMware, or AWS
• Experience with security hardening (STIG, STE/STN) and compliance documentation (SSP)
• Experience troubleshooting VM and application logs
• Minimum experience based on education: 12 years (HS), 10 years (Associate), 8 years (Bachelor), 6 years (Master), or 4 years (Doctorate)

Preferred Qualifications

• RedHat certification
• Knowledge of Python
• Experience with MongoDB
• Familiarity with Riverbed Technology
