Application Architect

Responsibilities

• Partner with software engineering leads to determine business-specific application needs and design cloud-based architectures.
• Define and develop application architecture for microservices, batch systems, and large-scale enterprise solutions.
• Collaborate with enterprise, data, security, and infrastructure architects to ensure alignment with Bank standards and governance.
• Provide thought leadership on reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Maintain system reliability and ensure architectures can gracefully handle upstream and downstream failures.
• Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating needs into functional specifications and user stories.
• Drive an Agile culture using Scrum or Kanban frameworks to manage backlogs and facilitate sprint ceremonies.
• Identify and create strategies to eliminate technical debt.
• Coach and mentor engineers to foster a high-performance environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in application architecture, specifically designing large-scale enterprise solutions.
• 3+ years of experience within the banking industry.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.
• Deep expertise in Microservices design and Event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with ETL, data solutions, and Domain-driven design techniques.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices (CI/CD).
• Strong communication and influencing skills to present to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Corporate Security, Insider Threat, or Internal Fraud domains.
• Knowledge of Splunk systems.
• Experience with system resiliency engineering and Lean methodologies.
