About the role
Responsibilities
- Partner with software engineering leads to determine business-specific application needs and design cloud-based architectures.
- Define and develop application architecture for microservices, batch systems, and large-scale enterprise solutions.
- Collaborate with enterprise, data, security, and infrastructure architects to ensure alignment with Bank standards and governance.
- Provide thought leadership on reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps.
- Maintain system reliability and ensure architectures can gracefully handle upstream and downstream failures.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating needs into functional specifications and user stories.
- Drive an Agile culture using Scrum or Kanban frameworks to manage backlogs and facilitate sprint ceremonies.
- Identify and create strategies to eliminate technical debt.
- Coach and mentor engineers to foster a high-performance environment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in application architecture, specifically designing large-scale enterprise solutions.
- 3+ years of experience within the banking industry.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure.
- Deep expertise in Microservices design and Event-driven architecture.
- Hands-on experience with ETL, data solutions, and Domain-driven design techniques.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices (CI/CD).
- Strong communication and influencing skills to present to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Corporate Security, Insider Threat, or Internal Fraud domains.
- Knowledge of Splunk systems.
- Experience with system resiliency engineering and Lean methodologies.
