App Dev & Support Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 production support by monitoring and resolving job failures (Oozie, Spark), data ingestion errors, and system slowness in a 24/7 environment.
• Administer Apache NiFi and NiFi Registry, including installation, configuration, and optimization of complex data flows and back-pressure settings.
• Manage Apache Kafka clusters, covering Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, topic management, rebalancing, and consumer lag investigation.
• Support the Hadoop ecosystem by monitoring HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, HBase, Sqoop, and ZooKeeper.
• Perform deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on incidents to implement permanent fixes and reduce future downtime.
• Execute performance tuning for NiFi flows, Kafka producers/consumers, and Spark/Hive queries.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD processes for deploying NiFi flows and Big Data application artifacts.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in application development or production support.
• Proven experience in Apache NiFi administration and configuration.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka cluster management and ecosystem tools.
• Strong knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark).
• Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and system performance tuning.
