About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on anti-bribery and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance matters to ExxonMobil and its global affiliates
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on anti-bribery and AML legal compliance requirements
  • Identify emerging compliance issues, assess risks, and advise on due diligence requirements
  • Advise on interactions with government officials, sponsorships, and charitable contributions
  • Drive continuous enhancement and effectiveness of the anti-bribery/AML compliance program
  • Lead and support regulatory advocacy efforts related to anti-bribery and AML matters
  • Conduct and oversee internal anti-bribery/AML investigations and reviews
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical behavior across the organization

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state (Texas preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of and experience advising on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-corruption and AML laws
  • Experience conducting compliance audits, internal investigations, and third-party risk management
  • Strong academic credentials at both undergraduate and law school levels
  • Ability to advise senior leadership on sensitive, high-stakes legal compliance matters
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of legal experience
  • Experience in a global or multijurisdictional corporate structure
  • Experience handling compliance matters in a government agency (DOJ, SEC, FinCEN, or similar)
