About the role
Responsibilities
- Create animated characters and objects that meet required direction
- Animate both primary and secondary characters using traditional methods and computer graphics systems
- Convey emotion through body language and facial expressions/dialogue
- Meet production schedules and show deadlines
- Participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews
- Collaborate with production, supervisors, and peers to solve problems and share information
- Follow shot turnovers, briefings, and feedback
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the principles of animation
- Proficiency in Maya
- Ability to provide a demo reel illustrating relevant artistic and technical experience
- 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate (or 2-3 years of relevant experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in fine art with understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form
- Knowledge of human and animal anatomy
- Life drawing skills
