Animal Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Manipulate, observe, and care for genetically altered rodents to prepare them for scientific studies
• Perform basic tasks for processing rodents, including identification by marking, breeding, weaning, and tissue sample collection
• Conduct natural history analysis as requested
• Record crucial data accurately in the VelociGene Data Management System
• Manage rodent breeding, including serving as embryo donors and recipients
• Perform husbandry duties such as cage changing
• Assist with packing and shipping rodents and general vivarium maintenance tasks

Requirements

• A.A. degree with biology coursework
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience working with laboratory animals
• Previous experience handling laboratory rodents
