About the role
Responsibilities
- Manipulate, observe, and care for genetically altered rodents to prepare them for scientific studies
- Perform basic tasks for processing rodents, including identification by marking, breeding, weaning, and tissue sample collection
- Conduct natural history analysis as requested
- Record crucial data accurately in the VelociGene Data Management System
- Manage rodent breeding, including serving as embryo donors and recipients
- Perform husbandry duties such as cage changing
- Assist with packing and shipping rodents and general vivarium maintenance tasks
Requirements
- A.A. degree with biology coursework
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience working with laboratory animals
- Previous experience handling laboratory rodents
