Animal Keeper

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily care, socialization, and development of intra-species relationships for herbivores and swine
• Manage animals in pastures and move them between paddocks and shelters
• Manage hay and feed supply for herbivores
• Clean indoor and outdoor animal housing areas to ensure a comfortable environment
• Monitor animal behavior and physical integrity to detect diseases or distress
• Maintain and update individual animal records in the cloud platform
• Support veterinarians with medical treatments, health checks, and pharmacological therapies
• Assist with health authority reporting and national database compliance

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in animal care, preferably in rescue or shelter settings
• Degree or field experience in biology, zoology, ethology, or related disciplines
• Knowledge of animal behavior, specifically regarding herbivores and swine
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Availability for shift work, including weekends and holidays, to ensure 365-day coverage
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle
• Willingness to relocate to Castiglione del Lago (PG)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in English
• Specific passion for herbivores and/or swine
• Agricultural/forestry tractor license
• Strong manual dexterity
