Animal Breeder

Responsibilities

• Oversee the health, growth, and development of livestock in a large sow unit
• Perform artificial insemination on sows using industry-approved techniques
• Evaluate herd health, identify sick or injured animals, and recommend treatments
• Diagnose diseases and administer medications and treatment plans
• Maintain detailed records of breeding, semen inventory, and treatment history
• Maintain sanitary conditions of the unit, including sanitizing crates and equipment
• Participate in safety programs and assist in training new team members

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience working with livestock
• Ability to lift over 50lbs and push/pull 500lbs in a cart
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and squat for long periods
• Must not own or live near any swine
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain TN visa status

Preferred Qualifications

• English language skills
• Ability to drive
