Android Engineer

About the Company

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid designed for commercial tasks and the home. Based in San Jose, CA, Figure's vision is to deploy autonomous humanoids at a global scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build native Android applications for robot data annotation, dataset review, and experiment tracking in the field
• Build fast, reliable mobile experiences for real-time and near-real-time data capture alongside live robot operation
• Utilize data-driven techniques to optimize interfaces for efficiency and fast iteration cycles
• Integrate AI models to automate manual annotation and review tasks
• Work closely with AI researchers, robot operators, and annotators to support new mobile-first user experiences
• Partner with the web tooling team to ensure consistent data models and workflows across mobile and web surfaces

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of professional, full-time experience building native Android applications
• Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java
• Experience with modern Android toolchain (Jetpack Compose, Android SDK/NDK)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating with data stores (Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, etc.)
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience building data annotation, dataset management, or field-data-collection tools
• Experience with React/TypeScript or other web frontend frameworks
