Anchor & Producer - News

Responsibilities

• Anchor and produce station newscasts, field reporting, and daily news packages
• Research, investigate, interview, and write news stories for broadcast and social media
• Write and proofread copy for accuracy prior to going on air
• Monitor for breaking news and coordinate interviews and future coverage
• Establish strong working relationships with producers and co-anchors to ensure informative broadcasts
• Assign information to crews and work with reporters to conceptualize story packages
• Capture video feeds from the field and assist with troubleshooting
• Attend community and station-sponsored events as assigned
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and oral communication)
• College degree in Journalism, Communication Studies, Radio-TV-Film, or equivalent experience
• Broadcast news experience as a reporter or photographer/editor
• Proficiency with non-linear editing equipment and personal computers
• Working knowledge of television news photography and technology
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to lift and carry broadcast video equipment (approximately 45 pounds)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in Spanish language broadcasting
