About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
  • Plan and organize instruction, including the preparation of syllabi in accordance with divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology and multimedia-based instruction
  • Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of a diverse student body
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information

Requirements

  • Master's degree in biology, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in biology content area
  • Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a culturally diverse community
  • Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
  • Ability to teach face-to-face classes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative instructional strategies
