About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction, including the preparation of syllabi in accordance with divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, utilizing instructional technology and multimedia-based instruction
- Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of a diverse student body
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by established deadlines
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- Master's degree in biology, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in biology content area
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a culturally diverse community
- Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
- Ability to teach face-to-face classes
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative instructional strategies
