Analytics Lead

About the Company

MAG is the market-making and proprietary trading arm of Novig. We provide liquidity across sports related event-contract and prediction-market venues and run a proprietary book alongside the mandate. We operate lean by design with a small, senior team supported by Novig's broader platform.

Responsibilities

• Build daily MAG P&L reporting and intraday dashboards covering open positions, exposures, and capital utilization
• Own the dbt layer including versioning, testing, documentation, and traceability to source trades
• Produce auditable monthly close period snapshots and lender facing covenant reporting packages
• Build data plumbing for new venues, traders, and strategies including normalized feeds and risk views
• Partner with the GM on backtesting, scenario analysis, and building self-serve analytics

Requirements

• 4 to 6 years in analytics engineering
• Strong SQL and dbt expertise
• Fluency in Hex or Metabase
• Meaningful financial services or trading exposure (understanding P&L, realized vs. unrealized, fees, and slippage)
• AI native workflow using tools like Claude Code and Cursor
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment tied to live sports schedules

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building reporting layers on modern stacks including Postgres and Redshift
• Ability to act as a sole analytics owner in a lean, senior firm
