Analytical Chemistry Principal Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Purify small molecules using HPLC and SFC to support medicinal chemistry programs
• Develop and optimize SFC purification methods, including chiral and achiral separations
• Perform analytical testing to confirm the purity, identity, and quality of compounds
• Execute small molecule property assays such as solubility, lipophilicity, and stability assessments
• Partner with medicinal chemists to meet project timelines and compound delivery needs
• Troubleshoot purification and assay issues and optimize laboratory workflows
• Maintain accurate records in electronic lab notebooks and communicate results to project teams
• Support the routine operation and maintenance of chromatography instruments

Requirements

• Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience
• Proven experience supporting small molecule discovery or medicinal chemistry programs
• Strong hands-on expertise with HPLC and SFC purification
• Proficiency with small molecule purification, characterization, and laboratory data systems
• Experience using electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and compound tracking systems
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with discovery informatics or specialized compound tracking software
• Familiarity with software development, scripting, or coding
• Ability to work independently and manage technical priorities with limited oversight
