About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own lane analysis and zone skip strategy, including margin modeling and utilization thresholds.
  • Build cost models and simulations to forecast the financial and service impact of network changes, such as carrier mix shifts and FC expansion.
  • Conduct shipment and transportation cost analysis to identify carrier overpayments and rate shopping effectiveness.
  • Support carrier RFP processes by modeling rate card scenarios and benchmarking carrier economics.
  • Perform supply chain analysis including inbound flow modeling, FC throughput, and capacity planning.
  • Build business intelligence dashboards for leadership covering OTD, performance, and lane-level economics.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives by aligning stakeholders across engineering, finance, and commercial teams.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in supply chain analytics, transportation strategy, or network design.
  • Strong quantitative skills with experience building financial models and running scenario simulations.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying large operational datasets (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery).
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI.
  • Deep understanding of transportation or supply chain economics, including shipping cost structures and carrier rate cards.
  • Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in highly ambiguous operational environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with zone skip, middle mile, parcel carrier networks, or last mile logistics.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for advanced predictive modeling and automation.
  • Background working at a 3PL, e-commerce fulfillment company, or supply chain consulting firm.
  • Experience with location optimization or facility network modeling.
