Analyst, Trade Settlement Management

Responsibilities

• Support the timely and accurate settlement of marketable securities, including fixed income, equities, collateral, and securities lending/borrowing transactions.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, settlement breaks, and discrepancies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with the identification and resolution of claims relating to failed trades to ensure accurate collection of funds.
• Maintain appropriate records for audit, including daily completion and reconciliation evidence.
• Update and maintain broker settlement instructions accurately within relevant platforms.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and maintain current procedure documentation.
• Liaise with Investment Management, custodians, brokers, and counterparties to reduce settlement delays.

Requirements

• University degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in capital markets or trade settlement operations.
• Strong operational knowledge of public market instruments and settlement lifecycles.
• Proficiency in managing high-pressure, time-sensitive operational environments.
• Experience with marketable securities trade settlement, collateral, securities lending/borrowing, and custodian reconciliation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and control discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion or enrollment in a professional designation program such as CFA or CSC.
• Familiarity with trade settlement, reconciliation, custodian, and market data systems.
