About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and complete ownership for problem diagnosis and resolution regarding SQL and data-related issues.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • Deliver first-line technical support for business-critical applications involving Java/J2EE, AWS, K8s, PaaS, and Unix.
  • Conduct analysis and implement bug fixes for production incidents and carry out technical enhancements.
  • Perform daily health checks on applications, systems, and databases on production servers.
  • Monitor business-critical batch workloads, real-time processing, and data transfer services.
  • Report root causes of incidents and propose preventative measures to improve system stability.
  • Ensure strict adherence to incident and change management processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all supported applications.
  • Participate in a 24/7 support roster, including shifts and weekend work as required.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of overall experience in IT.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database concepts (19c), including SQL (DML/DDL), query optimization, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Hands-on experience with UNIX and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 support environment, including UK shifts and on-call rotations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Java/J2EE (Core Java, Spring, and Hibernate).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based architectures such as AWS, Cloud Foundry, or Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M, Kafka, or CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins.
