Analyst, Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support for banking and securities businesses across the EMEA region under a dual-hat arrangement.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of documentation, including derivatives (ISDA, CSA), trading agreements, and various banking transactions such as project, aviation, and asset finance.
• Manage transaction execution, including term sheets, client presentations, and project management for structured products.
• Advise on legal, regulatory, and reputational risks arising from business activities.
• Support the legal team with research, internal policy maintenance, and reporting tasks.
• Assist with the expansion of the offshore legal team and support global legal functions.

Requirements

• University graduate with a demonstrable LLM and relevant law experience.
• Experience gained through an internship in private practice with a major law firm or in-house at a significant financial institution.
• Strong commercial awareness regarding market issues and regulatory changes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to be based in London for an initial two-year period, followed by relocation to Bangalore, India.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with general banking and derivatives products.
• Proficiency in a second language.
• Experience working in cross-cultural or international environments.
