About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of samples following strict Standard Operating Procedures
  • Conduct total Coliform / E.Coli testing, BPD, and oil and grease testing
  • Input data accurately into the corporate database
  • Filter microbiology samples for compliance testing as required by federal regulations
  • Clean and maintain laboratory supplies, including tubing and specialized glassware
  • Adhere to safe work practices and company guidelines for planning and executing work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Microbiology or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 months of bench experience in water, milk, or food microbiology
  • At least 30 days of on-the-job training in environmental microbiology under an experienced analyst
  • Strong understanding of basic laboratory practices, including safety and aseptic techniques
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand throughout the day

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EPA 1623
  • Training acceptable to the State or EPA in Microbiological analysis of water
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
