About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end operational lifecycle of mandatory corporate action events, including distributions, mergers, and stock splits.
- Analyze event information, option terms, tax implications, and legal requirements to ensure accurate processing.
- Monitor and manage critical deadlines, such as expiries and payment dates, to guarantee timely execution.
- Balance payments against proceeds and authorize final participant payouts accurately.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including Transfer Agents, Paying Agents, and the Depository Trust Company (DTC), to resolve discrepancies.
- Identify workflow optimization opportunities and propose improvements to internal controls and risk mitigation protocols.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, or securities operations, specifically focused on Asset Services or Corporate Actions.
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills to interpret complex event terms and determine entitlement payments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
- Proven ability to manage high-priority transactions and strict financial deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external business contacts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Canadian capital markets infrastructure and CDS/DTC operations.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
- Bilingualism in English and French.
