Analyst - Claims Management

Responsibilities

• Investigate, manage, and report on self-insured retained loss claims involving automobile liability, general liability, property damage, and personal injuries
• Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with company policy, working with legal staff and outside counsel on large-scale claims
• Provide analysis and fact-finding to support corporate property and liability claims and incident investigations
• Maintain and close accurate records within the STARS claims management system
• Manage spending on outside claims adjusters and determine fair settlement values
• Support customer service and regulatory groups regarding customer relations and PUC/PSC complaints
• Participate in a rotating "on-call" status to provide 24-hour support approximately every 4–6 weeks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Established knowledge of insurance adjustment, third-party claims investigation, and litigation practices
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable outcomes for property damage or personal injury claims
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn claims management databases
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• High level of attention to detail, analytical ability, and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a law firm, corporate legal department, or insurance company specifically related to property and casualty claims investigation
