Analyst

Responsibilities

• Analyze air and vapor samples using GC/MS methodologies and EPA protocols
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner
• Analyze and report QC samples as required
• Identify and report quality problems to supervisors or the QA department
• Assist with the preparation of sampling supplies, including thermal desorption sorbent tubes and related documentation

Requirements

• General knowledge of organic chemistry fundamentals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Ability to learn industry-specific software such as Target, Chemstation, or MassHunter
• Experience with or ability to learn Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management capabilities
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in a scientific field such as chemistry or biology
