Analyst 3, Import/Export

Responsibilities

• Classify Western Digital products, components, and 3rd party supplier items by assigning HTS codes and ECCNs.
• Apply General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), Section Notes, Chapter Notes, and relevant customs rulings during analysis.
• Maintain and update classification data within Oracle Global Trade Management (GTM).
• Support trade operation initiatives and projects related to classification and global trade compliance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance classification processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Liaise with internal departments and shipment requestors to facilitate timely release of shipments and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and business partners to ensure smooth cross-border movement of goods.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in HS & ECCN classification, customs operations, or international trade.
• Strong expertise in Harmonized System (HS) and ECCN classification methodology.
• In-depth understanding of GRI, Section and Chapter Notes, and customs rulings.
• Knowledge of Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and ECCN classification principles.
• Familiarity with INCOTERMS and global customs compliance requirements.
• Experience working with Oracle GTM or similar Global Trade Management systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• High level of accuracy and strong written/verbal communication skills.
