Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a data processing platform used to extract signals from petabytes of driving logs and simulation traces
• Design and build low-latency streaming data processing platforms for real-time identification of critical driving events
• Improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of signal generation infrastructure
• Establish SLOs and reduce operational toil for massive-scale data processing jobs
• Collaborate with Perception, Planner, and Data Science teams to migrate legacy pipelines to modern infrastructure

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend engineering, databases, and production monitoring
• Experience with general-purpose programming languages, especially C++
• Experience with capacity planning, resource forecasting models, and cost attribution for high-throughput or streaming data infrastructure
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks like Hadoop, Flume, or Spark
• Experience with stream processing frameworks such as Flink, Flume Streaming, or Kafka
• Proven track record of driving collaboration across organizational boundaries
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and reliability engineering practices (SLOs, error budgets)
