About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and tailored anaesthetic care to patients undergoing eye surgery
- Assess patients pre-operatively
- Administer local, regional (e.g., peribulbar or retrobulbar blocks), or general anaesthesia
- Monitor patients throughout surgery
- Work closely with ophthalmic surgeons and theatre teams to ensure optimal surgical conditions
- Manage post-operative pain and handle anaesthetic complications
- Contribute to teaching, audits, and quality improvement within the department
Requirements
- GMC Registered
- Full FRCA
- 6+ months NHS SpR experience
- ALS certification
