About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and tailored anaesthetic care to patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Assess patients pre-operatively
  • Administer local, regional (e.g., peribulbar or retrobulbar blocks), or general anaesthesia
  • Monitor patients throughout surgery
  • Work closely with ophthalmic surgeons and theatre teams to ensure optimal surgical conditions
  • Manage post-operative pain and handle anaesthetic complications
  • Contribute to teaching, audits, and quality improvement within the department

Requirements

  • GMC Registered
  • Full FRCA
  • 6+ months NHS SpR experience
  • ALS certification
