About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective anaesthesia to patients undergoing eye surgery
- Assess patients pre-operatively and plan appropriate anaesthetic techniques
- Administer local or regional blocks such as peribulbar or sub-Tenon’s blocks
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures
- Work closely with ophthalmic surgeons and theatre teams to ensure patient safety
- Manage post-operative recovery and pain relief
- Respond to complications and contribute to teaching, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- GMC Registered
- FCRA Part 1
- 6+ months NHS Registrar experience
- ALS certification
