About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and effective anaesthesia to patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Assess patients pre-operatively and plan appropriate anaesthetic techniques
  • Administer local or regional blocks such as peribulbar or sub-Tenon’s blocks
  • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures
  • Work closely with ophthalmic surgeons and theatre teams to ensure patient safety
  • Manage post-operative recovery and pain relief
  • Respond to complications and contribute to teaching, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • GMC Registered
  • FCRA Part 1
  • 6+ months NHS Registrar experience
  • ALS certification
