About the role
Responsibilities
- Select, inspect, and prepare ammunition for issue
- Inspect and repackage stores upon receipt
- Verify and complete supply documentation for inventory control
- Conduct periodic ammunition inspections and segregation of scrap
- Dispose of non-serviceable non-explosive stores and salvage materials
- Prepare shipments of ammunition, explosives, and general stores
- Create transportation documentation compliant with dangerous goods laws
- Provide guidance on laws and regulations governing explosives handling and transport
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with DND and CBO policies
Requirements
- Rank Qualified Corporal Ammunition Technician (ALGL) or Civilian Ammunition Technician (CAT) 2 minimum
- 4 years of experience as a military or civilian Ammunition Technician
- Current in AT trade related competencies
- Ability to achieve and maintain Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance
- Continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years
- Valid class G driver’s licence with a clear driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Current 3K Transport of Dangerous Goods certification
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and Zoom boom (RTFL)
- 3-ton truck with airbrake certification
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with AIMS, DRMIS, or AESIMS
