About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspection services for ammunition supply points, including visual inspections, damage assessment, and receipt inspections.
  • Visually inspect and classify conventional and non-standard ammunition such as shells, grenades, pyrotechnics, and mines.
  • Use the Munitions History Program (MHP) to input and retrieve data.
  • Verify nomenclature, lot numbers, and quantities on turn-in documents against physical markings.
  • Recommend disposition for damaged or deteriorated ammunition.
  • Clean, repack, and seal ammunition containers for storage.
  • Direct and inspect the work of military details and civilian personnel to ensure proper packing and classification.
  • Conduct inventories and perform 100% inspections of returned residue to ensure it is explosive-free.
  • Perform daily PMCS on all government-furnished or leased equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of military or civilian experience in ammunition classification and inspection.
  • Specific knowledge of Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) warehouse and storage functions.
  • Valid Louisiana class D driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a military operator’s permit for required vehicles and equipment (including forklifts up to 15K).
  • Fluent English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor climatic conditions.
