About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations arising from strategic transaction monitoring systems and referrals from financial institutions, the business, or law enforcement.
  • Perform client and company research using in-house databases and public information to identify unusual activity.
  • Analyze and assess risks and abnormalities, escalating unusual activity to the relevant country Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs).
  • Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for submission to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and/or law enforcement.
  • Participate in proactive investigative projects and monitoring activities in support of national, European, or global priorities.
  • Develop subject matter expertise to lead new investigative approaches for uncovering unusual activity.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of German, European, and global regulatory anti-financial crime requirements and standards.
  • Experience in anti-financial crime investigations, intelligence analysis, or a comparable field.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong academic background.
  • Demonstrated skills in risk assessment and the ability to make sound decisions regarding financial crime risk.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience handling large volumes of quantitative data.
  • Fluency in both German and English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing technology-driven case management tools.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practical knowledge or qualification in data automation and visualization software such as Alteryx, UiPath, Python, Tableau, or Xceptor.
