Requirements

About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach curriculum developed by the department to maximize student learning
- Plan and organize instruction, including the preparation and distribution of syllabi
- Employ appropriate teaching strategies and utilize modern instructional technology
- Modify instructional methods to meet the needs of a diverse student body
- Support student success through classroom and online efforts
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in interpreter education or a related field
- Proficiency in ASL with native or native-like signing skills
- Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology and multimedia-based instruction
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a culturally diverse community
- Must reside in or be able to perform work within Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field
- National Interpreting certification (RID/NIC)
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience in ASL or interpreting
