Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly and courteous assistance to patients during check-in and check-out processes
  • Manage patient registration and cashiering functions
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance and an organized work area
  • Handle sensitive personal and health information with strict confidentiality
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and handle challenging situations in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of direct face-to-face customer service experience
  • 1+ years of cash handling or collections experience
  • 6 months of experience in a customer-facing role within a medical office, healthcare setting, or similar service industry
  • Proficiency with computers and Windows-based software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Strong basic math and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a physician, hospital, or medical office environment (registration, scheduling, or billing)
  • 2+ years of insurance or managed care experience, including verification of HMO, PPO, EPO, and Medicare Advantage plans
  • Experience using EMR/Epic systems
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Proven experience with medical office cash handling and collections
