About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of residents and the facility during overnight, swing, and weekend shifts
  • Respond to emergencies, provide crisis intervention, and de-escalate potential client conflicts
  • Maintain professional boundaries while interacting with residents and supporting their reintegration
  • Monitor the facility, inspect for security compliance, and submit maintenance requests as needed
  • Document shift activities in logs and participate in daily shift change meetings to communicate concerns
  • Encourage residents to engage in community groups, activities, and available services
  • Manage administrative tasks including answering phones, taking messages, and completing paperwork

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or currently working toward a diploma
  • Prior paid experience working with homeless populations
  • Knowledge of harm-reduction models
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be female (due to the specific nature of the residential program)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals dealing with mental health, disabilities, or substance abuse issues
  • First Aid/CPR certification
