Alumni Engagement Officer

Responsibilities

• Advance relationships with alumni and constituents to strengthen the university brand and foster inclusive community engagement
• Recruit, train, and steward volunteers to support engagement work across 37 alumni communities nationwide
• Develop diverse programs to reach a broader audience and harness peer-to-peer networks
• Manage budgets related to alumni community programs
• Support major university programming including Reunion Weekend, Senior Sendoff, and alumni volunteer weekends
• Conduct discovery and qualification meetings to assess constituent interests and giving potential

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience in marketing, communication, or a related field
• Proven skills in relationship building, recruiting, training, and stewarding volunteer leaders
• Experience working effectively with people from various social and cultural communities
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM databases
• Valid driver’s license with a low-risk driving record
• Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of the University of Dayton
• Two or more years of experience in higher education, alumni relations, or the non-profit sector
• Direct volunteer management experience within a fundraising environment
• Event management experience
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks
