All Things Considered & National Desk Internship

Responsibilities

• Conduct research for daily stories and long-term projects for All Things Considered
• Book guests and arrange studios for news and feature interviews
• Log recordings of interviews and events and obtain archival tape
• Assist with digital production and help with the production of podcasts
• Support NPR staff reporters, editors, and producers in the creation of news programming for the National Desk
• Develop radio reporting and producing skills through hands-on assignments
• Build clipboards, log tape, and write digital posts under close supervision

Requirements

• Current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate (within 12 months of internship start)
• A keen interest in journalism and public media
• Previous journalism experience (e.g., college radio or local public radio internship)
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, D.C.
• Availability for a full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• Submission of a resume, cover letter, and writing sample
