Algorithmic Trader

Responsibilities

• Operating grey and black box algorithmic trading strategies in accordance with the trading desk’s objectives
• Monitoring of trading activity and positions consistently throughout the shift
• Performing research and post trade analysis using the firm’s research tools to improve profitability
• Applying expertise in market microstructure, historical tick data, and quantitative modeling to develop new sources of alpha
• Collaborating with strategy developers to propose and test code changes related to execution, pricing, and risk management
• Communicating with risk managers and internal technology groups regarding production issues
• Building and maintaining quantitative modeling tools and analytics
• Working with back office to solve for trade breaks and reconciliation exceptions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, business/finance, or related field
• 4-6 years’ experience trading financial products such as options or futures
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and math skills
• Experience with Python
• Ability to work independently in a complex and fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
