About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with engineering teams, project administrators, and regulators to certify commercial aircraft projects
  • Review certification plans, write regulatory correspondence, and manage compliance processes
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and coordinate technical messaging with the FAA
  • Own and develop technical process and procedure documents (BPM, BPIs, D6s, D950s, etc.)
  • Develop and execute strategic action plans for changes to certification processes
  • Contribute to root cause corrective action plans for noncompliance and voluntary disclosures

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working directly with the FAA and/or ODA on Type Certification projects
  • 5+ years of experience in developing, contributing to, or maintaining processes, policies, and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of related work experience
  • Status as an Engineering Unit Member or another FAA delegated member
  • Experience working across the entire certification value stream
  • Proven ability to coach and teach technical specialists and design approval engineers on certification processes
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to make engineering proposals based on data analysis
  • Experience investigating and resolving complex technical or regulatory issues
