Airside Safety Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage safety performance and development for assigned business units and direct reports
• Conduct regular safety inspections and evaluate project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Analyze hazard and incident data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
• Lead crisis, accident, or incident investigations and responses independently
• Develop and deliver safety toolbox meetings, project orientations, and "Just In Time" on-site training
• Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and assist with safety planning during the preconstruction process
• Manage subcontractor safety performance and enforce site-specific safety requirements
• Mentor site operations teams on safety inspection processes and best practices

Requirements

• BA/BS in safety or a related field with at least 6 years of related experience
• Willingness to work a graveyard/night shift schedule
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and respond to emergency or crisis conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• CHST, CSP, or equivalent professional safety designation
• First Aid/CPR certification
• OSHA 10 & 30 Hour for construction (OSHA 500 preferred)
• 8 or more years of construction safety experience, ideally with airfield experience
• Comprehensive understanding of high-hazard technical areas such as cranes, fall protection, and excavation
